Welcome

Welcome to Handmadekid.com!

Please contact me with any questions about the test designs shown here. I'm always working to improve my products and designs and make them really work in the classroom and at home. If you don't see something you need, let me know and I might be able to make it for you!

I work in a small studio in a century-old house in Virginia. When my children began attending Montessori primary classes I started helping make materials for the school - towels, polishing mitts, hand towels, cloth boxes and baskets, a sewing kit, sitting mats, and continent folders. I'm adding slippers and aprons. Everything is made to the highest standards, laundered, and tested on my own children or in their school to see how the materials wear.

Please take a look around and contact me for information on ordering and shipping.

Sit Upons

These cheerful mats can really help at story time.  Everyone gets a place, and everyone in his or her place.
There is even one for the teacher.
The large size measures about 18' diameter, the kid size is about 12" across.  They are a single thickness and meant for inside.  For outside, I make mats with an oilcloth backing so they can go on damp ground.
Bound with a cheerful hand made bias tape, these simple mats will brighten your library and classroom.
